Carl is a Swedish painter with a career in international trade in London and Geneva, who made the leap into the world of visual art after moving to Andalusia in 2017, developing his work further at the centro-ART in Málaga.
The contrasts of life offer interesting dynamics and tensions that inspire his art. Mediterranean themes merge with his Scandinavian roots and impulses, producing a playful result, as can be seen in the basis of the sombre urn patterns for the Octopus series.
Western and Eastern myths and themes also inspire his work, such as the threefold principle of heaven, earth and humankind. The sky stands for consciousness, an empty and raw canvas. The earth represents the first inspiration, the first thought. Humankind refers to expressing something.
The contrasts of life offer us interesting dynamics and tensions that inspire my art.
This principle finds expression in both the Pulpo and the Mystix series on show. In the latter, the couple represents our human essence in an everyday situation, and the fractal landscape our collective consciousness.
With vivid colour combinations and traditional techniques, he wants his work to radiate originality and vitality. He lives and works in the eclectic Lagunillas district of Málaga.
